Shantadurga temple Ponda  

Shantadurga temple is a large temple complex 33 km (21 mi) from Panaji at the foothill of Kavalem village in Ponda Taluka, Goa, India. The temple is dedicated Shantadurga, the Goddess who mediates between Vishnu and Shiva.

Shri Mangueshi Ponda  

Shri Mangueshi temple is located at Mangeshim in Priol, Ponda Taluka,1 kilometer from Mardol close to Nagueshi, 22 km from Panaji the capital of Goa and 26 km from Margao. This temple is one of the largest, most enchanting, serene and most frequently visited temples in Goa. The temple is dedicated to Lord Mangueshi, an incarnation of Shiva. He is a kuldevta of many Hindus in Goa including the Saraswat Brahmins. He is also referred to as Saib (The Lord of Goa) by Hindus.

Archaeological Museum & Portrait Gallery Old Goa

 

Archaeological Museum & Portrait Gallery in Old Goa. museum has been functioning since 1964 in the abandoned convent of St. Francis of Assisi and is maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). The collection consists of Brahmanical sculptures hero-stones and sati stones of the early and late medieval periods, portraits, coins and currency, revenue and court fee stamps, wooden and bronze sculptures and armoury of the Portuguese period.

Viceroy Arch Old Goa

 

Every city has its own gateway and these silent sentinels open their heart to take you to the irrefutable journey of bygones as soon as you prepare yourself to walk through them. Built in 1599 as a memorial to Vasco da Gama, the Viceroy Arch stands symbolic on the jetty of Old Goa. It is said that each viceroy had to pass through this arch before he took his office. The gate is an excellent example of Maneuline style of architecture, though the arch in itself is a feature of the Italian renaissance

Se Cathedral Old Goa  

The Se Cathedral (Sé Cathedral of Santa Catarina) is a cathedral in Old Goa, India, dedicated to Catherine of Alexandria. It is the cathedral of the Latin Rite Catholic Archdiocese of Goa and Daman, and the seat of the Patriarch of the East Indies. It is one of the oldest and most celebrated religious buildings in Goa and is one of the largest churches in Asia.

Banerji Art Gallery manifests the rich collection donated to Goa State Museum by Shri S. K. Banerji, Ex-Governor of Goa. It includes terracota objects of Indus Valley Civilization, seals of Janapadas, stone sculptures of Gandhara school of Art, South Indian bronzes, wooden sculptures of South East Asia and Dhokra ware. In addition to this Rajasthani miniature paintings of Jaipur School, Marwar school, Mewar school etc., paintings of Mughal style, Nathdwara and patachitras of Orissa  and few contemporary paintings are also displayed here.

Aguada Fort Sinquerim  

Aguada Fort was constructed in 1612 to guard against the Dutch and the Marathas. It was a reference point for the vessels coming from Europe at that time. This old Portuguese fort stands on the beach south of Candolim, at the shore of the Mandovi river. It was initially tasked with defense of shipping and the nearby Bardez District.The  Fort Aguada  is situated on Sinquerim Beach. It is located 18 km from Panaji, Old Goa.

Cabo da Rama Fort Canacona  

Cabo da Rama fort Located in the Canacona taluka of South Goa, the Cabo da Rama fort presents a desolate spectacle of crumbling ruins. Also known as Cape Rama fort, this ancient bastion is steeped in mythological legends. The fort derives its name from Rama, the protagonist of the epic Ramayana, who, accompanied by his wife Sita took refuge here during his exile from Ayodhya.
How to Reach Cabo Da Rama Fort
A long winding road branches off towards the fort from the National Highway-17 going to Karwar. You will have to arrange for autos or taxis to reach the Cabo da Rama fort.

Tiracol Fort Kerim
